For many of you that have been maintaining your vegetable gardens for a long period of time, you may find that your garden simply looks plain and has become quite boring to look at. There is nothing wrong with the plain look it's just that sometimes it would be nice to see a variety of colors that look pleasing and comforting to a person's eye. This can actually be done very easily by utilizing the help of perennial flowers. This could be an easy and very effective way to create some excitement in the garden by adding different colored flowers without all the hard work.



Perennials can be planted very easily, and each and every year they will provide colors of which you may have never seen the likes. They are extremely durable and provide years of very colorful flowers to look at. When planting these colorful sight savers, they will not require any type of extra work accept for planting. When they aren't in season, you won't even know you have them and when they are, you will know because of all the beautiful colors they'll provide. They do not affect the other plants in the garden making them the ideal choice for many different gardening situations.




Perennial flowers will not grow in places that are too moist or over saturated. So if you are trying to find plants to grow in an overly saturated are, these aren't the ones. These types of plants do really well in an area that has good drainage. If the area doesn't have good drainage and you would like to plant these types of flowers anyway, you can but you'll just have to build a raised bed. This can be done very easily and will also make your garden look extremely well kept. The raised bed can be build right over the top of the area that doesn't have excellent drainage. This will allow the raised bed to drain well and the perennials to grow normally and without issue.



Planting perennials can brighten up any garden area because there are so many to choose from. You can actually find these flowers that will bloom at different times of the year making them ideal for those that would like to have a certain type or color of flower blooming at a certain period of time. If you would like to do this, you will need to do the research on which flowers bloom during certain times of the year. Then you plant them accordingly, this will create a nonstop event in your garden where when one flower is done blooming for the year, another flower simply takes its place.




If you would like to try and have different perennials popping up at different times of the year, you may want to check with your favorite flower nursery and see if they have a special seed mixture that will allow this. While you're there, pick up some mulch because planting these types of flowers using mulch makes them grow so much better. You really won't need much fertilizer so don't overdo it. When planting, try and spread them out a bit to create a pattern once they've begun to bloom. Planting perennials is not hard and can be done very easily. They don't require a lot of maintenance and can be enjoyed for years on end.
